The Kula Cloth® transforms peeing in the woods from a hassle into a breeze! Finding a solution for bathroom breaks in nature can be stressful and all-consuming for women hikers. Carrying toilet paper, searching for suitable leaves, or going without proper hygiene aren’t ideal options. That’s where the Kula Cloth® cloth comes in: a hygienic, safe, and comfortable solution designed for outdoor needs.

Embracing the wild is part of the adventure, but it's best to stay practical and clean when it comes to personal hygiene. This antimicrobial cloth is not only sanitary and efficient but also a stylish addition to your hiking gear. Discover more below!

What is it?

The Kula Cloth® is a reusable antimicrobial pee cloth designed for outdoor enthusiasts. Instead of relying on an excessive amount of toilet paper—which is not eco-friendly—or using the dip-dry method—which is less sanitary—the Kula Cloth® offers a sustainable solution for staying clean and comfortable when you need to relieve yourself in the great outdoors.

Crafted with the adventurer in mind, this versatile cloth boasts various practical features. Its vibrant, waterproof side keeps your hands and gear clean, while the black side is made of antimicrobial material designed for direct contact with your body.

The cloth has a double snap system, allowing easy folding and secure attachment to your backpack. When hung outside your pack, the cloth benefits from UV exposure to help sterilize it along the trail. Additionally, the reflective thread on the black side makes it easy to locate in low-light conditions.

Who uses it?

The Kula Cloth® is intended for anyone who squats when they pee – specifically in nature. However, before it’s used as a pee cloth, it can also be used as a sweat cloth, washcloth, handkerchief, or even to wipe the dust out of your eyes when rallying at a horse race.

It’s not just intended for hikers; the Kula Cloth® can be used in most recreational activities when you just have to go. We’ve seen bikers, paddlers, anglers, campers, concert-goers, skiers, golfers, horseback riders, rollerbladers, ice skaters, spelunkers, rock climbers, runners, hunters, and, well, just about anyone uses it. So, no matter your hobby, there’s likely a reason to start using a Kula Cloth.

Why should I use it?

"Leave No Trace" is a widely recognized standard for any outdoor activity, and the Kula Cloth® embodies this principle perfectly when it comes to peeing in nature. Many people use toilet paper along trails, mistakenly believing it will simply "disappear" if left behind. This is not the case. The Kula Cloth® minimizes toilet paper use and is ideal for leaving no trace.

In addition to supporting the Leave No Trace philosophy, the Kula Cloth® is made from non-toxic fabrics and eco-friendly materials manufactured in the United States. Its silver-infused textiles are specifically chosen for their safe and hygienic contact with the human body.

Plus, the wide variety of Kula Cloth® designs supports artists and organizations that make a positive impact. And let’s not forget—the Kula Cloth® also adds a stylish touch to your pack!

How do I use it?

Using the Kula Cloth® is straightforward and convenient. When relieving yourself, find a discreet spot to squat and take out the Kula Cloth®. After you’ve finished peeing, use the plain black dimpled side of the Cloth® to absorb any excess moisture. The reverse side is waterproof, so you don’t have to worry about liquid seeping through your hand. Once you’re done, you can snap the Cloth® onto your pack using its single or double-snap feature. As you continue on your hike, the sun’s UV rays will help to 'sterilize' the Cloth® while it dries.

NOTE: The Kula Cloth® should only be used to absorb urine and must be kept exclusively in the 'pee zone.' It should not be used to wipe anything else.

How to clean it?

When on a day trip, there's no need to clean the Cloth® between uses. You can simply hang it on your pack to allow the sun to sterilize it while you're on the trail. Once you return from your adventure, we recommend handwashing the Cloth® with soap in a sink at home and then hanging it to air dry.

If you prefer not to hand wash, you can also machine wash it—just avoid using fabric softener or bleach. Make sure to keep the backpack snap closed during washing to prevent it from snagging.

If your Kula Cloth® gets wet in the rain, it can still be used; it will function similarly to a “wet wipe.” However, the Cloth® dries very quickly, so it should be dry again soon after being stored away from rain.

The Kula Cloth® is a game-changer for anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors. Its combination of functionality, hygiene, and environmental responsibility transforms the often-dreaded task of peeing in nature into a seamless part of your adventure.

Its innovative design helps you stay clean and supports the "Leave No Trace" motto, minimizing your environmental impact. So next time you’re getting ready for an outdoor adventure, don’t forget to pack your Kula Cloth®!
