Your journey begins in the stunning capital city of Quito, Ecuador, located at over 9,000 feet above sea level. As the highest capital in the world, Quito offers breathtaking views and beautifully preserved historic streets. Spend your first day exploring iconic landmarks such as the Basilica and San Francisco Church, followed by a visit to the Equator Museum where you can stand at the center of the world. You’ll also visit the Pululahua Crater, one of the few inhabited volcanic calderas in the world, to connect with nature before your adventure continues. The next leg of your journey takes you to the Galapagos Islands, a world-class destination known for its remarkable wildlife and geological wonders. Explore the iconic islands of San Cristóbal, Santa Cruz, Bartolomé, and Isabela, each offering unforgettable encounters with wildlife and stunning landscapes. Highlights include a cooking class in San Cristóbal, snorkeling at Kicker Rock, a visit to the Charles Darwin Research Station, and hiking the Sierra Negra Volcano. Your days will be filled with exploration, including snorkeling, kayaking, and hiking. Whether swimming with sea turtles and penguins or walking within feet of giant tortoises, each day promises unique experiences in one of the world’s most spectacular natural wonders. Don't miss the Amazon Extension to make the most of your time in Ecuador before you take on the Galapagos!
Not included: Travel between Quito and your home, Galapagos National Park Entry Fee ($200), Galapagos Transit Card ($20), Isabela Port Fee ($10), alcoholic beverages, guide gratuities, travel insurance, meals as noted on itinerary, wetsuit rentals, personal expenses, and optional activities not on the itinerary.

This adventure is ideal for women in good physical condition who are ready to actively explore the Galapagos for 3 to 5 hours each day. Activities include hiking, swimming, and kayaking, with most hikes being moderate, except for the more challenging hike up Sierra Negra Volcano. The days are packed with exploration, and some will require early starts. There are multiple opportunities to snorkel, so being comfortable in the water is essential to fully enjoy this experience. Please be aware that there are several speedboat transfers throughout the trip. While the ocean is very active with wildlife we will be transferring between islands via speedboat, so this trip may not be the best fit for those who are highly prone to seasickness. As with all international travel, flexibility is key. Embracing the local culture and setting aside certain Western expectations will enhance your enjoyment of this incredible journey.
