This trip feeds your sense of adventure with active outdoor adventures on the lake and healthy local cuisine.

We'll spend the entire trip at a comfortable home about an hour from the Reno Tahoe International Airport. There are 5 single supplements available with private baths for $500.

Below is the proposed itinerary for the trip. As is true on any adventure travel trip, plans for any specific day may be modified due to weather considerations, unforeseen circumstances, new opportunities, and group interests.

DAY 1
Today is arrival day! Fly into the Reno/Tahoe International Airport for a 3PM pick-up by your AGC Guides. Wind your way through the majestic Ponderosa Pines on a 45-minute drive to the comfortable mountain house that will be our home for the long-weekend. Weather permitting, we'll kick off the trip with some outdoor movement to reset after a day of travel, and dropping into this shared adventure. This will be followed by appetizers and a delicious home-cooked meal. (D)
DAY 2
There is nothing like an early morning on the lake with glassy water and calm skies. We’ll start our first full day bright and early, with a 7AM arrival at Tahoe Watermans in Carnelian Bay. After coffee and breakfast, we’ll have a paddleboarding clinic from a pro paddler, followed by a long paddle and time for free swimming if the crystalline cold water is calling your name! After a healthy lunch, we’ll return home. This evening you have the choice of a short hike, yoga, or downtime to explore local options near our lodging. (B, L, D)
DAY 3
After a nutritious breakfast we will depart to kayak the stunning turquoise waters of Sand Harbor. Explore the idyllic shoreline and compelling coves of Lake Tahoe. Enjoy the unique experience of gazing down to depths of up to 65 feet through water so clear you might think you’re in the Caribbean - until you look up to the beautiful mountain vistas that surround you of course! We’ll picnic on a white sandy beach and then return home for some downtime. Stretch those sore paddling muscles and practice being present in the beauty of a summer afternoon in the Sierras. This evening you’ll be dropped off for exploration and dinner on your own in charming and historic downtown Truckee (B, L)
DAY 4
Rise with sun salutations to greet our last full day in Lake Tahoe. After breakfast we will lace up our hiking boots and depart for a hike on the Rubicon Trail from D.L. Bliss State Park to Emerald Bay and a tour of the enigmatic Vikingsholm - Tahoe’s hidden castle. This approachable 5 mile rolling trail overlooking Lake Tahoe offers the opportunity to dip into swimming holes along the way or take a lunchtime swim at the bay. An important part of wellness is cultivating joy, and we suggest an ice cream or popsicle at the visitor’s center before heading home. As our trip winds down, we will celebrate our adventure with a group meal at a local restaurant in Tahoe City. (B, L, D)
DAY 5
We will have one last delicious. group breakfast before departing for the airport, arriving at 10AM. You can plan to fly home any time after 12PM. (B)

We had a very welcoming cohesive small group enabling us to get to know each other as well as our guides. The activities were great. I loved being on the guides home turf (or former home turf), how they knew so much about the area and the connections they had. Honestly, I would recommend adding another day. I would have liked a bit more time in Truckee to see the museum as well as the town. I’m not sure what there is to do at the Olympic Village, but an activity there might be another option.

Having a delicious breakfast and coffee lakeside followed by SUP instruction by Anik Wild was inspirational and gave me confidence on the board. Paddle boarding on the clear waters of Lake Tahoe was a true highlight of the trip.

The multi-sport aspect is a great plus. With airfare so expensive, I wish the actual trip had been longer. It would have been nice to have another day on the water. I had not paddle boarded before and would love to have had a second chance to practice/enjoy the experience.

I was able to share the trip with my sister who had never hiked. She found that she really enjoyed hiking and paddle boarding.

My goal for this trip was to do SUP and kayak with some instruction and a group. Both experiences were wonderful. I now feel like I can rent a SUP or a kayak when the opportunity presents, even if I am solo. I also liked the yoga, the hike, the lodging, the relatively short drive times and the wonderful guides. This is the first AGC trip I've done that was not a hard core level 4 or 5 hiking trip. I will definitely consider another more relaxed wellness type trip in the future if it has at least one major activity per day with a second optional activity. I loved traveling in two normal mini-vans and not the big 14 person bus; a small detail but the vans were much more comfortable. Re dinner on the last night, I would have preferred a low key dinner at a locals spot or somewhere closer to the lodging as opposed to to the vibe at a Tahoe lake side establishment with a bar menu that was 3x larger than the food menu. It was not the right vibe for our group. PS my margarita was great but it was hard to talk which you want to do on the last night.

Fantastic guides. Beautiful scenery. I’ve never been to this area before, so I was happy to see and experience this part of California.

There were only 4 participants - everyone got their own rooms, we all got to know each other better than if there was a larger group and both guides were amazing women that had different talents that added to our Tahoe experience.

I loved the relaxed pace in such a beautiful venue. It was a nice change from the usual jam-packed trip schedule.

  1. Where do we eat?

This trip will be a combination of meals cooked by AGC guides, and meals out at local restaurants. One night you will be able to dine at a restaurant of your choice in Truckee, CA. The dinner on the last night is at a restaurant where you can order off the menu. Breakfast and lunches will be either prepared and packed by your guides, or at local restaurants with healthy choices.
  2. What dietary preferences or restrictions can you accommodate on this trip?

We can accommodate vegetarian, lactose-free, and gluten-intolerant although we can not guarantee a completely gluten-free diet, if we know well in advance. If you’re severely allergic or if you have other significant dietary restrictions, please call the office before you register. If you’re vegan, you may want to bring some additional protein bars and favorite trail snacks.
  3. Can I kayak instead of stand up paddle boarding?

There will be one day on this trip where everyone will stand up paddle board, and one half-day where everyone will kayak.
